教槽的本質是教會仔豬適應飼料，促進腸道及相關酶體系發育，仔豬體重的大小取決于母豬健康與采食量，拉稀與否歸根結底在于基因和管理水平，把所有問題押寶在教槽料方面，并不合理。
教槽料作為飼料中的高端產品，利潤高，市場空間潛力巨大。飼企在推廣教槽料時，普遍強調其相對競爭對手在日增重、抗拉稀方面的優勢。但不少行業人士卻有不同看法，認為教槽料的關鍵作用是讓仔豬成功從吃奶轉為吃料，不宜對日增重、抗拉稀要求過高。
爭議1：教槽是否要求長得快
不止一名受訪者認為，教槽料起承上啟下的作用，上承奶水，下啟保育料。其本質是滿足哺乳階段的營養需求。“所以使用教槽料應該關注日增重。”
